职位介绍

The open position is in the FAIRCROWD project （http://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/rsarkar/position/faircrowd.html）within the REPHRAIN National Centre for Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial influence Online. The project is led by Dr. Rik Sarkar （https://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/rsarkar/）.

The project aims to develop privacy preserving algorithms for evaluating and crowdsourcing user data, and for performing distributed machine learning. The research can involve some combination of techniques from distributed machine learning, differential privacy, optimisation, algorithms etc.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Essential requirements:

• PhD (or near completion) in computer science or related field

• Confidence in understanding concepts in theoretical computer science. 

• Knowledge of machine learning and data science.

Desirable skills include:

• Knowledge of differential privacy, theoretical machine learning, algorithms, experience in applied data science and data analytics.

• Proven expertise in the techniques needed to undertake the research in question

• Demonstrated quality of research performance

• Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing.
