Photography has opened our eyes to a multitude of beauty
Photography has opened our eyes to a multitude of beauty, things we literally have not seen before the invention of frozen image. It has greatly changed our ways ofexpand of notion of what’s beautiful, what’s aesthetically pleasing. Items used to consider trivial, or not worth an artist’s paint, are now revealed and honored by photographs.
$ as technology developed, photographers have explored a new point of view.
What is it that delights the human’s eye and allow us to make a claim that a photograph is beautiful? Photography depends on consists of the trinity of light, composition and moment. When they are in balance, it’s real visual magic.
Light makes the frozen recording of an image possible. the same is true with composition What a photographer choose to stay keep in or out of the frame, is all that we will see. When the moment the shutter is pressed, $ an instant is frozen in time, the image is provided with meaning.
$ Light, composition and moment come together to bring us an ultimate reality, $ a view of world unknown prior to the invention of the camera.
$ Before photography, images were used to please, not to capture reality. But as photography involves, the rules were reacted in pursuit of fresh vision.
Photographers become interested in the real world, good and bad, and it’s the occasional discoveryaccidental details that is celebrated.
Photography invites the world to see with new eyes, to see photographically,
$ and all of the arts have draw inspiration from this change.
$ With this aesthetic tool, photographers have evolved from scientists who only care about fixing an image longing to fix an image, to artistic revolutionaries.
$ Photography has created a new way of seeing, changed our ideas of beauty and, most importantly, made art democratic.
$ It has provided us a strong proof that the world is grander than we can image, and that there is always beauty, often overlooked, in almost nearly everything.
outer wilds, death is inevitable
Dead is inevitable, in outer wilds. It waits beyond the atmosphere, at the bottom of the cliff, in the ghostly aura of a planet.
It’s in your oxygen level, your ship’s reactor.
It’s at the center of the sun.
You can pretend dead doesn’t exist, for a while. That’s what i did in my first go-round. I was exceptionally careful in landing and taking off, i talked to every person, i grimedglean every bit of information, i practice floating and falling, i planed my first space flight. But when i eventually leave the town i was born in and the planet i was born on, i flew my way over to a neighboring world, gently touched down and looked up, and saw the sky exploding.
Your solar system is a ticking time bomb, generations were born, live and die, not knowing that the sun will eventually destroy their world. It doesn’t particularly matter to anyone else.
but this unstoppable super nova does matter to me, the person who achieved hie lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut, minutes before the explosion.
It also matters to the scientists who have spent their whole life trying to unravel the mystery of the universe, and were just inches away before they saw all the things disappear.
It probably matters to the kids who just want to play hide and seek with, the elders who have seen astronauts like me come and go, the explorers who have taken up residence on another planet, it probably matters to them too. Although, they don’t know it.
Dead is inevitable, in outer wilds. And it does not inevitable once. Every time i die, through /. i wake up in the same place. Back home, back next to the camp fire, i ,am stuck in a loop. But in the brain of anyone else, i have even started to take off. I am/ and no one else know it. And no matter what i do, no matter how many planets i visit and kids i play hide and seek with, we are still on tick away before the end of the solar system.
But i explore, anyway. Maybe someone has found a way to stop that super nova, maybe there is a problem that has almost been solved, but just not quite.
But who knows how many times i wake up at the same place.
I can only build my map of the universe in a couple of minutes every time, but i can live in these minutes over and over, learning more every time the sun explodes
There is a funny moment at the very beginning of super mario galaxy.
It’s here, mario looks so goofy when he runs!
Well, that’s not actually what i mean
Peach the entire castle has beenlevitated off the ground by a freaking UFO and has been stolen through a wormhole and morio as always has apparently been sucked into thevacuum of the universe. You know, standard stuff. But here is the thing. Mario gets woken up by a little star thing and then the game just does this:
I, think about this, for a moment.
Mario galaxy is nothing if not effusive, there are just so many ideas, so many gimmicks and so many tricks, i mean, just listen to the soundtrack.
Mario galaxy might as well be Mozart’s ninth concerto in video game. They are off the charts. I actually have trouble recording over this song because it just gives me goosebumps, i mean, waaaahh
Set the stage of the whole planet.
Mario galaxy defines themselves by variety. There is virtually no thematic consistency in the games and it doesn’t have to be. Each one is charming and most importantly, it offers a totally different context for mario to jump in.
it‘s hard to be board when you are whisked off to another different place every couple minutes.
The game just bleeds new and interesting mechanics
but despite all the variation, the dozens of different ways you move through the worlds, there is a uniting principle in the games, it is space.
you have to fly through it every time you want to get somewhere.
and they also know that it‘s impossible to make space something only ever fun.
Has no intentions of filling you with dread , but still even in this happy-go-lucky universe, this is one of the first visuals the game gives us
A tiny moon, suspended over a massive and abstract planet, no bombast, no triplejump
If you look for it, like every mario game there’s tons to do in each level. There are multiple starts in each one, but you can’t grab them all in one run through, you are kicked out after finding each one. You have got to take a minute, update your star and coin counts, save and then jump back into the painting, or fly back to the galaxy in pursuit of the next adventure,
And in mario galaxy the places you are kicked back into are just so lovely, they are referred as hubs, or observatories, but they are not really
The stove is not interactive, you can’t climb into bed but someone might. Each of these rooms is its own little buffer between worlds.
But what it wants to communicate through this design is not despair.
is it sad, it is more like the sadness you feel at the end of your birthday party, or coming home from a vacation.
it is the moment when happiness leave you.
the more obviously sad as well as weird is the library.
over the course of the adventure you can come here several time to listen she read a story about her losing her mom and finally finding a family among the star.
you don‘t uncover a secret for listening, and it is not related to your adventure.
it just gently prompt you, stop playing for a minute, and listen something that isn‘t quite joy.
