Receptionist: Good, you know, sometimes students stop by this desk to ask about the activities going on in the student center. Is there any information you'd like me to pass along? 

Student: Um, the flyer will have the date, time, and location of our meeting, but there probably won't be enough space to include synopses of all the films we are gonna show. We're showing three documentaries. They are about local artists, uh, painters whose work has been exhibited nationally.

Receptionist: Nice, I never realized /that painters /of that caliber /lived in our town.

Student: Yeah, they were the subjects for a project in a film-making class that some of us took last fall.

Receptionist: So these films were made by students? I guess I misunderstood. I thought your club was for students who want to watch films, not for showing films that students have made. 

Student: Well, in the future we do plan to show commercially produced films. Showing these student films is just a way of getting started. The plan is to let members vote on what feature films they want to see and discuss. But since this will be the club's first activity, we thought we'd start with the documentaries about painters, and let the filmmakers talk about the techniques they used to make them. This will actually give them some practice, because they're gonna have to speak publicly about the documentaries at the Campus Film Festival in April.

Receptionist: I see. Anyway, documentaries about local artists! That sounds interesting! 

Student: Yeah, you're welcome to pop in if you want, or just wait and see all the documentaries at the festival.

Receptionist: Thanks. And, yeah, give me the list of what the club will be watching next month. I'll be happy to share it with anyone who asks. In fact, you can mention on your flyer that the descriptions are available here at the reception desk.
