The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. In 1979, the program was extended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts. In 2015, the program was again extended to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields. Each year, up to 161 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.
The recommended encryption level for securely and safely transmitting personal data is 128bit encryption. Many popular browsers offer 128-bit SSL versions. We recommend that you use either Mozilla Firefox , Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Apple Safari. It is important to understand that these browsers come in both 40-bit (older versions) and 128-bit versions (more recent versions), so be sure your version offers the higher level.
Note: If you have enabled a pop-up blocker or are using software that automatically disables pop-up browser windows, you should disable this feature for most effective use of the On-Line Application System (OLAS).
Some users of older Internet browser versions, and even new versions of other browsers, have experienced difficulties in completing and submitting their OLAS forms. We will work diligently to assist any users who experience such problems, however, we also recommend using recent versions of Internet Explorer (version 8 or higher), Mozilla Firefox (version 11 or higher), Google Chrome (version 36 or higher), or Safari (version 5 or higher) whenever possible.

How to Get Help
The type of problem you're having will determine where you should go for help.

This is the number for the Presidential Scholars Program's technical assistance center, which is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm, Central Time Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
