At the end of March, at the invitation from Japanese partner, SCRY team paid a visit to Atogo green hills Mori tower in Tokyo for a symposium on blockchain technology and applications. Attendees were mainly comprised of officials from Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, technology research scholars and representatives of insurance and finance, including officials from METI, professor from The University of Tokyo III, CEOs of Japanese insurance companies, former president of Sony and researchers from NRI, driving the atmosphere to a high level.
At the symposium, SCRY introduced the team's aim and vision of hoping to have blockchain technology better serve the whole world, and made simple and clear explanations about blockchain technology and the ideas behind it. Afterwards, Scry team detailed the distinctive double-chain underlying structure developed by them, and its high speed transmission and stability, winning high appreciation from attendees. Also, the first DAPP that Scry team will launch in July combines many interesting ideas such as socializing and data prediction, which has aroused great interest in cooperation on multiple data applications from others.
Apart from SCRY, attendees also showed high interest in the agricultural supply chain application which the team successfully developed in 2016 by utilizing blockchain technology. As a high-end agricultural product exporter, Japan's craftsmanship makes them to purse better for cultivation of agricultural products, winning high reputation due to high quality in international market. However, not all agricultural products in Japan have been covered by whole-process traceability system. Recently, a number of international companies, including Louis Dreyfus, a France-based grain multinational group, and De Beers, the largest diamond group in the world have successfully applied blockchain technology to resource trading, and made surprising achievements. This technology clearly shows the entire supply chain, simplifies procedures, and eliminates many hidden risks, thereby lowering cost, enhancing efficiency and letting both consumers and related businesses rest assured. It is therefore expected that blockchain technology will see a great market potential in Japanese agricultural product supply chain. People present in the symposium believe that given the successful agricultural case, and in combination with conditions of Japanese land, this technology will revitalize Japanese agriculture.
Japanese government has always been positive about blockchain technology. As a developed country integrating Asian culture and Western culture, Japan is experienced in insurance management, and its insurance premium, insurance business volume, depth and density even exceeded a number of developed countries and ranked in the first places. Today, Japan is still one of the most developed countries in terms of insurance. Combination of blockchain technology and insurance, particularly, the application of Scry's double chain, can more quickly create insurance policy, and provide more borderless insurance applications. Blockchain can control time cost and risk and help obtain more benefit space, and therefore undoubtedly will inject new blood into this long-lasting industry. People from all walks of life at the symposium extended great interest in this idea, which aroused a new round of exciting discussions. Mr. Daisuke Tanaka, a senior consultant from NRI also expressed his concern: When data are entered on blockchain, any false information certified will cause huge impact on system and applications. This symposium has given deep and long-reaching influence on Scry's cooperation in Japan. Many participants from traditional industries also proposed their ideas for further cooperation.
