6月12日，Crypto DevCon继续进行，开发者热情不减，会议接连迎来新的高潮。作为本次Devcon的Crown Sponsor，NEO创始人达鸿飞受邀为会议做开幕演讲，虽然未能亲自到场，但达鸿飞宣布了重要信息——NEO将“资助者回馈计划”未申领的180万美元全额捐献给了区块链研究基金会Open Blockchain Foundation（OBF）。

NEO was the crown sponsor for Crypto DevConwhich took place on Jun 11-12 in Palo Alto. NEO Founder Da Hongfei remotely delivered a speech in which he announced that NEO would donate the unclaimed USD 1.8 million from NEO giveback plan to Open Blockchain Foundation (OBF).

作为本次DevCon的重量级嘉宾，同时也是OBF的名誉主席，华人物理学家张首晟一直以来与NEO保持着密切良好的合作关系。在今天的会议上，张教授代表OBF与加密之父Diffie教授进行了一次亲切友好的交流，他提到，“区块链技术研究目前很少得到政府的资金支持，而一些区块链团队或公司愿意捐助一部分资金来支持学术研究。OBF的使命是筹集区块链行业资金来支持区块链前沿技术研究，OBF能够接收到NEO的资助，对OBF与区块链的发展都是具有重大意义的。”

Prof. ZHANG Shoucheng, the Honorary Chairman and President ofAcademic Committee of OBF (Open Blockchain Foundation), was invited to theconference to have a fireside chat with Professor Diffie, Father of Public Key.He pointed out that “Blockchain technology research so far has been rarely funded by the government, where as some blockchain projects or companies are willing to donate a portion of their fundsto support academic research. The mission of OBF is to support frontier academic researches in blockchain technology with the funds raised from blockchain industry. NEO’s contribution is of great significance to both OBF and the blockchain industry.”

张教授举例到，当下热门课题寻求抗量子计算解决方案就是OBF的使命之一，抗量子计算解决方案一定程度上也决定着区块链行业的未来发展走势。

Professor Zhang also mentioned that finding solutions to Quantum computing resistance, a currently popular topic, is part of the mission of OBF. These researches will shape the future of blockchain technology.

Open Blockchain Foundation (OBF) is an independent neutral foundation initiated by NEO, with a mission to support academic research of blockchain technology and conduct in-depth research on frontier blockchain technology, blockchain security and compliance. As the first donor of OBF, NEO contributed the unclaimed amount of 1.8M USD from the latest concluded Giveback Plan as its first contribution to OBF, followed by 10-15M USD contribution in the coming years. OBF welcomes contributions from more institutions of blockchain industry. 

张首晟教授将担任OBF的名誉主席与执委会主席。同时也是DHVC创始主席、著名华人物理学家、美国科学院院士和中国科学院外籍院士，他发现的拓扑绝缘体让他获得了包含富兰克林奖章在内的诸多荣誉。近年来张教授在区块链研究上也卓有建树。

Professor Zhang Shoucheng, the Honorary Chairman and President of Academic Committee of OBF, is also the founding chair of DHVC, a renowned Chinese physicist, academician of National Academy of Sciences (United States) and foreign academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His discovery of typological insulator honored him with numerous awards, including Benjamin Franklin Medal. Recent years also witnessed quite afew of his prominent research results in blockchain technology.
