The 60th Spark Club Meeting: Emotional Quotient

It’s a wonderful Monday again, and also the 60^th meeting of Spark Club on this lovely day. 

This week, our new VPM Winnie, introduced the meeting rules as professionally as an excellent airline stewardess. Next, our Thememaster, also our old friend Richard gave us a topic that is bothering a lot of people,  ###Emotional Quotient ! ###

    “A high EQ goes beyond one’s carefully-chosen wording and the extent to which we can control our emotions. Human beings have emotions. That’s instinctual, but controlling them in the right way is vital for our survival in modern society. I’d like to hear what EQ is in your minds, and the stories you can share with us. ” Richard said.

And then let’s turn to the surprise topic part. But before that, I’d like to share our new member Phoebe, a cute, sunny girl without any sense of nervousness, making an interesting self-introduction using rich body language.

During the surprise topic part hosted by Cassie, A friend you've had an argument with or something that makes you angry. She also told us a vivid story about a time when she argued with a friend who cheated in an exam.

And Thomas, as usual, set a good example for us. By the way, he and Bob, as two husbands, talk a lot about their wives this time.

Ibelieve Bob is a nice person that is responsible for both his family and hiswork. During our speech part, he gave meticulous advice to George, the speakerhe evaluated this time.

And during the speaking part, he got his wish, George did a good job by explaining the EQ problem, and how it affected George relationship with his ex-girlfriend. Looks like that relationship really affected him deeply.

If you have patience to read this far, then let’s me tell you about another speaker, Rock. This man, just like his name, his speech is like a rock. The story he told is like a rock, indestructible, fantastic! He spoke really clearly, fluently and he had memorized the entire speech! 

What’smore, I have to say Lucia, who is much smarter than me, although it was her first time to be an Evaluator, she learned very quickly how to perform her role. Next, Ah-counter Lynette, Grammarian Iris and me, quiz master Steven (by the way, I prepare some pens as gifts) give a short summary of the meeting. And our General Evaluator Amber found that our Timer Ricardo made great progress of his role of Timer. Especially, he improved his skill at delivering the timer report.

In the end, we voted for the best function roles. The result is exciting:

Best evaluator: Amber

Best surprise topic speaker: Thomas
