Word of theday: Toy (adorable)
Topic: 21st centurytoy
It’s a wonderful Monday again, and also the 62nd meeting of Spark Club on this lovely day.
This week, our new VPM Winnie, introduced the meeting rules as professionally as an excellent airline stewardess. Next, ourThememaster, also our old friend Steven gave us a topic that everyone probably recognize from their childhood:
###Toys! ###
“Everyone may have different toys when we wereyoung. Toys can bring happiness, amusement, and relaxation at the same time. They play a vital role in modern society. I’d like to hear what Toy is in your minds, and the stories you can share with us. ” Steven said.
And then let’s turn to the surprise topic part. But before that, I’d like to share our returning members--old friends Eric & Daisy. This sunny boy and girl might have had a sense of trepidation at returning after a long absence, but they both made interesting self-introductions using rich body language.
Duringthe surprise topic part hosted by Thomas, he asked us 5 questions to challengeus to solve problems with toys in different situations. This is an excellent way to better understand the meaning behind the word “toy”.
Steven and Skye played a couple discussing what gift to buy for their daughter. The answer is unexpected but reasonable--Motor bike as well as family time.
I believe a motorbike can bring passion for life, while family time will allow both parents and child to get close to each other, to cherish their beautiful normal but happy life.
During the prepared speech section, adorable Shelly told us the story about her relationship with video games in her childhood. They really changed her life, she enjoyed the happiness that games brought to her but she also mentioned gametime should be scheduled properly so that we can keep a balance between games and daily life.
If you have patience to read this far, then let’s me tell you about another speaker, Ricardo. This is a lovely man. The story he told is adorable, fancy, and surprising! He spoke really clearly, and he taught us: a man is just an older boy. (Or, we can say “Boys will be boys” Hahaha^^)
What’s more, I have to say that Richard, who is much smarter than me, had memorized the entire speech! Plus the PPT presentation, it is really close to a perfect speech in my mind. From his speech I’ve learned the basket rules--life needs balance. Using suitable ways to solve the right problem is an effective and easy approach.
Time flies, we are getting to the conclusion part. Ah-counter Winnie, Grammarian Iris and me, Quizmaster Daisy gave a short summary of the meeting. Then, our General evaluator Skye performed her role very well and giving a vivid conclusion.
In the end, we voted for the best function roles. The result is exciting:
Best speaker: Richard
Best function role: Steven
Best evaluator: Thomas
Best surprise topic speaker: Skye
Congratulations!
So let’s meet next week!
