Emacs and Org mode

Since I started using Emacs, I've actually migrated to using Evil (evil) as my major keybinding, which has been serving me well.

There's some other keybinding that's worth trying but that's for another day.

Finally I can do some basic Org-anization of my personal life and work. I think the thing that's most appealing to me about Org mode is that I can just come in and say "I have this, this and that to be done on different days" and viola it all comes to the great agenda view! This is something I've been looking for for a long time and I just find that Micro$oft's Outlook is just not there yet! (or I'm just too stupid to use it!)

Coming from the Vim world, the need for me was like everyone else - I need to feel safe in Emacs. And who can provide that feeling of safety? Well you guessed it, Evil! It's just a great tool that tries to set up the conform zone for you. But hey, Emacs is never Vim and there are just gaps that can't be filled.

I visited this reddit post a few times before I totally settled down with Emacs own key bindings. Just so you know that I wasn't very good at Vim anyway so I thought to myself last night (<2019-09-01 Sun>) that I WILL start using Emacs' key bindings! All of a sudden things turned out to be great! I mean, as long as I have the reference cards for Emacs and Org, I'll survive.

I'll still use Vim. That's for sure. Text editing in Vim is just much faster and at the very least, IDEs that I use almost all support Vim mode. So I'm not going to give that up for good. I'm just enjoying the beauty of Org…

<2020-01-06 Mon>: two or three months ago Vim went out of my daily routine. I now live in Emacs.
