The ONE Information, a premium consulting firm working primarily within the IT banking industry, is looking for a number of highly motivated PostgreSQL DBA to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of strategic goals for production databases.

• Providing input to the Infrastructure and IT Operations manager regarding company data standards and practices

• Employ best practices to ensure high availability, Load Balancing and Replication.

• Designing and developing back-end database interfaces to web and e-commerce applications

• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

• Design and implement horizontally scalable solutions.

• Install, configure and maintain database instances on premise and in the cloud

• Maintain database documentation and troubleshooting playbooks.

• Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.

• Assist with database-related application deployments

• Proactively monitor database performance.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize database connection, statements, and strategies.

• Review and approve database modifications submitted by engineering teams.

• Maintain change control and testing processes for all database modifications.

• Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards.

• Ability to troubleshoot problems and multi-task between different activities and teams

• Ability to organize and plan work independently and work in a rapidly changing environment

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written

• Ability to work non-peak hours when needed.

Skills - Experience and Requirements: 

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 5 or more years experience in PostgreSQL or mysql relational database administration.

• 2 or more years experience operating database technologies in a Linux environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Advanced SQL development and performance tuning.

• Experience with Data modeling, AWS and Splunk

• Deep working knowledge of and proven experience with database clustering.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or comparable relational database proxies.

• Strong understanding of both structured and unstructured data.

• Understanding of and experience with shell scripting for process automation.
