Hourly Rate: 80k to 100k per year

Location:  Kitchener, ON

 Job Description 

- As a Front-End Web Developer you will combine the art of design with the art of development. Responsibilities will include building wireframes and code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works

- In this role as the Front-End Web Developer you will define, extend and code of front-end client-side solutions to our web applications.  The Front-End Web Developer will be hands on component development and deliver best-in-class web-design using html5, CSS3 & javascript within a Microsoft .Net MVC stack

- The front-end developer will be responsible for building web applications in MVC with experienced knowledge in consuming web services and working with back-end developers to provide data to/from your client-side code

Key Responsibilities

- Build robust, maintainable, enterprise-level web applications using .Net MVC framework and modern static front-end stack

- Collaborate with back-end developers on the design and implementation of RESTful APIs

- Implement responsible web design principles to ensure that our web applications renders well across multiple devices

- Collaborate with back-end developers and designers to improve usability and ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

- Developing and maintaining our CSS framework and codebase

- Developing robust, modular and highly reusable widgets

- Optimize applications for maximum speed and monitor website performance, watch for traffic drops related to site usability problems and rectify the issues

- Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting

- Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end · Write functional requirement documents and guides

- Reviewing site statistics, establishing and responding to automated monitoring

- Participate in functional, performance, security and accessibility testing.

Participate in ongoing code reviews and ensure consistent quality and adherence to internal standard

Qualifications

- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX and      ASP.Net MVC, C# development

 

- 5+ years of real-world experience working on production      web-based applications as a front-end developer 

- Proficient understanding and maintaining of CSS pre-processors such as (LESS/SASS/SCSS)

- Experience with RESTful Services and APIs

- Proficient understanding or experience with

    (1) Analytics solutions, such as Google Analytics

    (2) Developing for search engine optimization using best practices and principles

    (3) Cross-browser compatibility issues and work-arounds

    (4) Modern web styling frameworks and components (i.e. Bootstrap, Material, etc.)

    (5) AODA/WCAG compliance standards

 

    (6) TFS/VSTS integration and code merging and branching methodology

- In-depth understanding of the entire web development  process (design, development and deployment)

- Excellent analytical and multitasking skills

- Expertise in responsive web design, mobile-first  designs and use of media queries

- An ability to perform well in a fast-paced, agile environment

- Team player with solid communication skills, able to  interact effectively and work collaboratively

- Ability to work under pressure in a changing, demanding environment. Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines

- Knowledge of mobile development platforms and  frameworks (i.e. Xamarin etc.)
